Dial-in is available on our Business plan.
How to set up dial-in
Steps:
Click avatar in top right corner of your Vowel workspace
Click Workspace settings
Enable Dial-in access
Note: You must be an admin or owner to enable
Once Dial-in is enabled the number will be displayed in the Upcoming agenda view for your meeting as well as on the Google calendar event invite.
You can change the country by clicking on the drop down next to the number as shown below.
Adding your phone number to your user profile
Navigate to your profile in the top right corner of your Vowel dashboard.
Click on "Account settings" and then "Add phone number"
From there you will be able to enter your phone number
By entering your phone number to your user profile, Vowel will be able to identify you in meetings. Your name will be displayed instead of a phone number on your video tile in the meeting, on the transcript, and in the notes as well as in the post-meeting view.
Once you call into the Vowel meeting you will receive a number of notifications:
Starting message: “Please enter the Vowel Meeting PIN and press pound” (the PIN is always displayed next to the phone number)
In call messages:
Press *6 to unmute
Success: If you successfully connect to the call: "Connecting you to your Vowel Meeting, please hold on while we connect you."
Error messages:
If no PIN number is provided you will keep hearing “Please enter the Vowel Meeting PIN and press pound” every 15s
When the PIN number provided is not exactly 10 digits long you will hear "Vowel PIN should have 10 digits, please try again." You will need to re-enter the PIN number.
If you do not enter "#" after 15 seconds you will need to re-enter the PIN number
If you are trying to dial in to a call that is hosted on a Free plan or if dial-in is disabled you will hear "Dial in is disabled for this workspace. Please contact the organizer or enter another PIN."
If you try to join a meeting too early you will hear "Unable to join. Please wait for someone to start the meeting on a browser or enter another PIN."
If you are a Guest joining a Vowel meeting and it has not been started by a Member you will hear "Unable to join. Please wait for someone to start the meeting on a browser or enter another PIN."
If you are entering someone's personal meeting room and the owner of that room has not started the meeting you will hear "Unable to join. Please wait for someone to start the meeting on a browser or enter another PIN. "
Please note: Dial-in is only available for Trial, Pro & Business customers. It is not available for the Free plan.
